My Story
After having a career in the Human Service’s field for over 30 years I made the decision to leave and start a pet sitting business. I will provide the same care and concern for your critters as I did with the folks I worked with in the human service field! I am a sole proprietor.
Karen's Critter Care of Colorado is a premier pet sitting service specializing in providing companionship and care for your pets in the comfort of their home. With a passion for animals and years of experience, I ensure your pets receive the attention and the love they deserve while you're away. My personalized approach guarantees peace of mind for pet owners, knowing their furry companions are in safe hands.

Services are designed to meet the unique needs of every pet and pet parent.
Complimentary Meet and Greet in the comfort of your home to discuss your needs and meet your fur babies. Before services begin an Intake form and service agreement, veterinary emergency form and pet profile will
be required
From daily visits to overnight stays, I provide a range of services to ensure your pets are happy and healthy in your absence and that you have peace of mind, as well as ensuring your home is well cared for and safe.
Deposit of 1/2 is due at the time of booking to secure the booking, the rest upon completion of services. I accept cash, Venmo @karen-chappelow, Zelle 7207034423, Paypal @karenchappelow11, check with ID.
Holidays will be billed at 1 1/2 times rate. SPECIAL for November/December 2025 and January 2026--Holiday fee will be waived, regular prices apply
Daily Drop-in Visits-$28 to $40
30 to 60 minute visits, respectively--Add $15 for each additional dog and $7 for each additional cat
1/2 or full day-To be discussed
Regular check-ins and enrichment for your pets. Walks if needed. Customized to your needs including feeding, potty breaks or litter box cleaning, medication administration, photos/texts, play time and lots of pets!

Overnight+Partial Day Stays-

$95 to $150 for one dog depending on needs. For puppies add $15 more. $55 to $90 for each additional dog.

$50 for one cat. $20 for each additional cat.

Other critters pricing to be discussed depending on type and care needed.

For travel over 20 miles from Lakewood, additional costs for mileage may apply.
Overnight+partial day care and companionship for your pets. Includes feeding per client wishes, potty breaks and clean up, litter box clean up, enrichment, medication administration, photos/texts and daily updates, walks if needed, other services and fees as agreed upon. I would ask for an up to 6 hour break to run errands, etc. during the day if needed and other breaks as agreed upon. And of course, lots and lots of cuddles, scratches, and love for your adored pet(s)!
House services included in overnights include watering plants inside and outside, getting mail, recycle/garbage day, bird feeder refills, light cleaning and other arrangements as agreed upon. I want to leave your home in pristine shape.

I can’t say enough great things about how wonderful Karen was with our two dogs! One of our dogs is a puppy and one is a senior citizen - they have very different needs and personalities, and Karen took the time to learn everything about their personalities to make sure they were not only physically taken care of and safe, but emotionally comfortable as well. For nine days, she sent frequent updates and photos of the boys, and when we got home she presented us with notes that she’d written out each day about how each dog was eating, playing, and feeling. She took care of our house like it was her own. Karen was so kind to the dogs that they were genuinely sad to see her go, and when our senior dog had a health condition following her stay, she maintained contact for updates because she cares so much about him and wanted to know that he was okay. I’ve never felt so comforted on a vacation many time zones away knowing that our boys were in trustworthy and loving hands. I would book Karen to house sit again in a heartbeat! Thank you, Karen ♥️

Karen was great at taking care of our two senior dogs over a long weekend at our home. She asks questions to make sure she gets things right.
One of our dogs has mobility issues and uses a special harness and she took extra care of him and helped him walk. She also gave detailed updates and photos too. Karen also helped bring in deliveries and water plants while we were gone. Overall we could relax on our trip knowing our dogs were in good hands.
